Written by Stormbringer on December 29, 2011 from toms river, new jersey, US Last May I purchashed a brand new Kia Sorento EX V6 AWD fully loaded. 1 2 weeks (300 miles) later the vehicle was making a loud noise and jerked hard during startup. Went to the dealership 3x about problem, of course car acted fine at dealership. vehicle continued to have same problem, to car back to vehicle and they stated it was a computer update(software) issue that they supposedly resolved. Didn't help tranmission went at 17k. After replacing transmission, vehicle had the same issues 1 month later. Dealer stated it needed "another software update". Took vehicle back to dealership and they "fixed" it. 2 weeks later transmission slipping, took it back to dealership they stated it 1 quart low on fluid. The dealership "fixed" problem aagin. 1 week later transmission is slipping & making thud noise again on startup. Also, rear passenger window gets stuck down periodically. Transmission also has a burnt plastic smell to it. I have to take the vehicle back to KIA tomorrow. This is frustrating as heck. I've had my 2011 Sorento to the dealership about 5-8 times concerning this same issue. My 2011 Sorento is the WORST vehicle I ever had. 24k miles as major problems every since 300 miles. Will NEVER buy KIA again |
